I am reminded of the yesterday that had gone by,
the to-day that wanes but still in existence
and the tomorrow that is taking eons to come.

I stare out at the empty space,

To bedeck our surroundings with hues of the petals of efflorescence
Which blossom and bud and send forth new shoots,
In the changing of seasons,

thriving in the hot Summer
finally wilting in the harsh, brisk winds of Autumn,
barren and unsightly in Winter

As the butterflies taste the bitter dregs of icy Winter
And finally succumb to their deaths.

constantly recovers through the falling of rain
Slips through cracks and fissures like a thief in the dark

To become part of the air we inspire.

To provide and basically support living organisms
The essence for our beings to survive on

How impossible to live on without fluids.
How dreadful our lives will be as our bodies dehydrate.
The source for our well-being is water
The most precious of gems.

Cladding me in densely colored foulards
Shrouding me in dreams of eternal happiness
Veiling the grotesque, sullied images
of the world from my innocent perspective.

Oblivious to the bloodstains that rent and claw
at the beauty of Earth. Tearing this treasured quilt apart.
The paradise that had been, once upon a time,

Tangling up the threads of friendship
Severing ties

Lie not and all obfuscation is ironed out.
confess the terrifying truth instead of fabricating a white lie
The world will be less messy than it is now.

Eternity

The world is a fake place
where only lust and hate exists.

So, when the world finally come to an end,

Our love for another being may be insignificant, but it exists.

without contacting another sentient being?
Can we live and die without acknowledging anyone?

Can we live each day without feelings?
